Join the 2026–2027 Practical Activism Conference Planning Team

The Practical Activism Conference Planning Team offers University of California, Santa Cruz students a rewarding experience to gain community organizing skills, build professional development, and create lasting memories through team-building. Practical Activism is an annual, student-led social justice conference, and organizers are seeking passionate students to join the planning committee for the 24th annual event set for Feb. 27, 2027.

Student planners earn two units in the fall and two units in the winter—totaling four units—while fulfilling the PR General Education requirement. The class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 p.m. to 3:05 p.m., with an emphasis on attendance over homework. The first class session begins Week 3 of the fall quarter.
