Lick Observatory "Evening with the Stars"

This event is SOLD OUT. Our popular “Evening with the Stars” programs are held annually as part of the Lick Observatory Summer Series. Each year we bring world renowned science speakers to the summit of Mount Hamilton for an astronomical night to remember. This year marks the 38th Annual Summer Series on Mount Hamilton.

Evening activities include:

  • Astronomy talk by a world-renowned scientist
  • Viewing through the historic 36-inch Great Lick Refractor telescope
  • Viewing through the 40-inch Nickel Reflector telescope
  • Astronomy discussions with amateur astronomers with small telescopes

Please note: Weather may restrict telescope viewings, but other activities will still take place.

Lick Observatory is located on the summit of Mt. Hamilton in the Diablo Range east of San Jose. Driving time from San Jose is about one hour via Quimby Road or Mount Hamilton Road SR-130.
