Weekend with Shakespeare


Join Shakespeare scholars and artists for two days of lectures, discussions, and demonstrations about the 2018 Season’s mainstage productions, Romeo & Juliet and Love’s Labour’s Lost.

The Weekend with Shakespeare Lecture Series will take place from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on August 11 and 12 at the UC Santa Cruz Arborteum. Follow the Lecture Series with these recommended activities:

7:00 p.m. Bring your own picnic dinner to The Grove at DeLaveaga Park
7:00-7:15 p.m. Pre-performance discussion of “5 Things to Look For”
8:00 p.m. Evening performance of Love’s Labour’s Lost (August 11) or Romeo and Juliet (August 12)

Weekend with Shakespeare is co-sponsored by The Humanities Institute and Santa Cruz Shakespeare.

This year, the Weekend With Shakespeare Lecture Series is free! However, we suggest interested participants RSVP through The Santa Cruz Shakespeare website.

Tickets for the evening performances are also available for purchase through The Santa Cruz Shakespeare website. $20–$56 per person.
