Adventure Rec Info Session for International Students

Ready to explore the majestic coastal redwoods, discover Santa Cruz’s iconic beaches, or get out on the water? Join UCSC Adventure Rec and International Student Services & Programming (ISSP) for a friendly, beginner-focused orientation and info session designed specifically for international Slugs!

Whether you are an experienced outdoor enthusiast or have never set foot on a hiking trail, Adventure Rec offers accessible ways to explore Northern California. In this relaxed session, you’ll learn how to get involved, meet fellow international students, and discover all the outdoor opportunities available right from campus.

What We’ll Cover:

• Upcoming Excursions: Get a sneak peek at upcoming day hikes, sea kayaking trips, surf sessions, and weekend camping trips tailored for all experience levels.

• Gear Rentals: Learn how to borrow camping, hiking, and outdoor equipment directly from the Rec Rental Center without needing to buy your own.

• Registration & Tips: Discover how and when to sign up for popular trips before spots fill up.

• Student Leadership: Hear about outdoor leadership training opportunities if you’re interested in guiding future trips.

Come make new friends, ask questions in an informal setting, and start planning your California adventures!
