Research Lunch & Learn: Managing Conflicts of Interest and Commitment

Join us for a discussion on Financial Conflicts of Interest (FCOI) and Conflicts of Commitment (COC) — what they are, why they matter, and how we manage them at UC Santa Cruz. This session will provide an overview of institutional processes for disclosing and reviewing potential conflicts, clarify the key differences between FCOI and COC, and explain how both are addressed in the context of federally funded research. Led by OR and APO experts, the speakers will also explore the broader implications of unmanaged conflicts on research integrity, public trust, and institutional accountability.
