Rooted in Nature is a pre-conference camping retreat leading up to the California Black Farmers Conference designed to connect attendees and community members with the land, with each other, and with themselves. Through guided outdoor experiences, storytelling, community meals, wellness activities, and field day activities, participants will explore healing, resilience, and joy in nature.
This is more than a camping trip—it's a space to build community, restore balance, and deepen our relationship to land and legacy. Whether you're an experienced camper or new to the outdoors, all are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Activities include:
Nature hikes & plant walks
Campfire storytelling
Art, music, & meditation circles
Workshops & land-based teachings
Group meals & reflection time
Dates: July 19-20, 2025
