Vigil in honor of Trans Day of Remembrance and Resistance

Trans Day of Remembrance Vigil 2026: Remember Me As…

An evening exploring memory, legacy, and our shared LGBTQ+ lineage to honor trans, 2 Spirit, non-binary, and gender expansive lives lost in the last year. Featuring community-made fabric art installations, an intergenerational lineup of performances, and more to explore our community’s strength and cement our commitment to fight for trans lives.   This event is open to all students, faculty, staff, and members of the wider Santa Cruz Community. It is a collaboration between the Cantu Queer Center and The Diversity Center with support from the London Nelson Community Center and Fabrica Santa Cruz.

In addition to the vigil, there will be Trans Memorial Quilt Panel Craft Meet-Ups to create a Trans Memorial Quilt honoring the lives of Trans people that will be displayed at the vigil.
