DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, October 8\, 12:00 PM– 12:30 PM \nRegister for the Zoom link. \nDid you know that physical movement and cognitive training work together to reshape and strengthen your brain? In this session\, you’ll discover how physical exercise boosts brain elasticity and how cognitive training can build cognitive skills. \nThe Wellness in Action series is designed to help you improve your health in a short session with simple tips you can try in your own life. Take some time to put it in action in your own daily routines\, and come for the follow-up session two weeks later to reflect on what worked\, troubleshoot what didn’t\, and learn what’s working for others. \nRegister here for the Zoom link. The workshop will be recorded\, and a link to the recording will be sent out after the first session. \nIn the follow-up session on Monday\, October 19 from 12:00 PM -12:30 PM\, you will have the opportunity to share your experience and learn from others in the group. SUMMARY:Make & Take Dried Floral Pumpkin Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Learn to make a beautiful and long-lasting dried floral and succulent pumpkin that can be used as a stunning centerpiece in this “make and take” workshop\, just in time for the holidays. Instructor Amber Pearsall will demonstrate the mechanics of putting everything together and will have a couple examples to guide your inspiration. Personal artistic style is highly encouraged! You’ll be able to choose from a wide selection of dried and some fresh materials\, some that were grown at the Farm & Garden and some provided by the instructor and team. With care\, your beautiful pumpkin creation will last well into the new year! Light refreshments will be served and the atmosphere promises to be jovial\, creative and social. \nREGISTER

DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, you will: Learn reading and note-taking methods and why they work to help you learn. \nThe Successful Slug Workshop series\, hosted by Learning Support Services Peer Coaches\, are open to all UCSC undergraduate students and focus on academic skills and tools to support your success as a student.
