DESCRIPTION:5th Annual Slugs Campout \nHave you ever wanted to camp under the stars overnight after enjoying s’mores\, hot chocolate\, and smiles around a cozy campfire? UCSC students are invited to join Adventure Rec and the DSAS Center for Leadership and Involvement for the fifth annual Slugs Campout on Friday\, Oct. 2\, at the Upper East Field. \nCheck-in begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Adventure Rec tent near the sand volleyball courts\, where sleeping bags and pads will be provided on a first-come\, first-served basis. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own sleeping gear\, campfire games\, musical instruments and friends. Students and staff are invited to stop by a furniture “sit test” open house and share feedback on potential furniture selections for the renovated space. \nHosted by MillerKnoll\, Pivot\, and Jensen Architects\, the open house will give members of the campus community an opportunity to try out furniture and provide feedback on appearance\, comfort and inclusive design\, durability\, cleanability\, sustainability\, and more through a brief digital survey. Plan for approximately 20 minutes to participate. Project representatives will also be available to answer questions and talk about the renovation. \nThe Bay Tree Building renovation remains on track for reopening in September 2027.
