Thirty Years of Exoplanet Discovery. \nNamed among the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine in 2017 and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences\, Dr. Batalha is an eminent planetary astronomer. She served many leadership roles for NASA’s Kepler mission\, when she identified planets potentially able to sustain life and led the analysis that confirmed the first rocky planet outside our solar system. \nOLLI at UCSC is a community of adults from diverse educational\, occupational\, and geographic backgrounds who are devoted to the pursuit of learning.
