DESCRIPTION:Planting Oceania is a Oceanian/Indigenous Pacific Islander community organization that plants traditional foods in two gardens located at Filoli Historic House and Gardens in Woodside and at the UC Giltract Farms in Albany. Members of Planting Oceania will share stories about growing plants and stewarding the Land as an important cultural practice for building Oceania/Pacific Islander communities in California. DESCRIPTION:The Cantu Queer Center is excited to host our 4th annual Rainbowsgiving\, a community meal for folks who would like an alternative and inclusive gathering for Thanksgiving / 4th Thursday in November.   Our hope is to provide a space for folks to connect with others in an affirming\, celebratory gathering in which they can be who they are proudly.  We are mindful that traveling can be pricey and that one’s home community is not always safe.   We want to provide a space that is welcoming and accessible and for you! \nTo help us ensure we have enough food and to meet any dietary needs\, please RSVP in advance.   Friends\, roommates\, family\, partners\, and other loved ones welcome!

This event was created to give students of color an opportunity to explore green spaces around campus and be in community with one another. The first part of the day will consist of students taking a walking tour through several campus gardens\, beginning at Stevenson Garden and ending the tour at Oakes College\, where we will eat free food\, play games\, listen to music\, and get to know one another in the sunshine. This supports the PoCSC's goal of providing students of color with community building opportunities\, and representing BIPOC sustainability practices.

SUMMARY:BIPOC Outdoors: Garden of Eden Hike
DESCRIPTION:BIPOC Outdoors is a series that aims to bridge the gap between marginalized students and outdoor recreation while simultaneously fostering community with one another. This includes a beginner to moderate\, mostly flat (some incline/decline) 1.5 hr hike from Stevenson College to the Garden of Eden (a rocky swimming hole nestled along the San Lorenzo River). Lunch will be provided and we would love to enjoy a fun day in the sun and the water with you all\, before hiking back to campus! This supports the PoCSC's goal of providing students of color with community-building opportunities and representing BIPOC sustainability practices. \nPlease RSVP beforehand\, it's required for this event! Meet outside the Stevenson Fireside Lounge (near the wood piece) by 10 am\, this is where we will leave from and return to!
