Set in a failing movie theater in central Massachusetts, three employees sweep up spilled popcorn and tend to the last remaining 35-mm film projector in the state. Their daily struggles and quiet heartbreaks in the search for connection remind audiences to hold on to authenticity in hard times in The Flick, written by playwright Annie Baker and directed by UC Santa Cruz students Lina Valderrama and Felix Rae Whitehouse.
